A very positive experience

The Glasgow Night Shelter for Destitute Asylum Seekers operates from premises we are renting from a church.  We provide over-night shelter for destitute asylum seekers and for non-EU migrants who are not allowed into other accommodation.  Our current premises allow us to take in men only but we hope to be able to offer shelter to women again in the future.

We give out guests a hot evening meal, a safe place to spend the night in a sleeping bag on a mat, breakfast and a packed lunch.  We also try to help, or signpost to other organisations that can help, with the immediate problems our guests are facing.  Consequently a good number of those who have stayed with us, after varying lengths of time, have moved back into the official support system, have found accommodation with friends or have even been granted Leave to Remain or Refugee Status.

Financial donations can be made by donating money to the ‘Glasgow Destitute Asylum Seeker Night Drop In’ account at any Lloyds TSB branch, account No: 75140563 and sort code: 87-37-51.
